Set on a ridge that overlooks picture-perfect Scranton, Pennsylvania, this beautiful recreation structure was built using a modified post-and-beam construction, embracing Craftsman sensibility. The stained shingles on the roof add rustic flare, while the open rafters give the building the aura of an Adirondack lodge. While luxury architecture gives this structure a distinct look and feel, its Craftsman cottage style fits nicely with the homes in the surrounding area. The projecting stone balcony with a shingle stair rotunda gives access to the outdoor sitting area on the lower-level patio and the pristine in-ground pool. Inside, a massive inglenook fireplace creates a comfortable, elegant living space. To savor the lovely northern view, we designed a stunning wall of windows segmented by the structural elements. The home’s mezzanine overlooks this grand space, displaying a spectacular panorama of the Mohawk Valley and Adirondack Mountain range of New York.
